Supervisor Of Teaching And Learning at Delaware County Intermediate Unit

Nikki Borradaile is an experienced educational leader currently serving as the Supervisor of Teaching and Learning at the Delaware County Intermediate Unit since October 2014. In this role, Nikki recruits, retains, and evaluates staff while collaborating with district and school administrators to facilitate professional development and consultation related to Bureau of Special Education and Pennsylvania Department of Education initiatives. Prior to this position, Nikki held the role of Assistant Principal at Avon Grove School District, focusing on special education, curriculum, and school safety, and also served as Assistant Principal and Special Education Teacher at Catalina Foothills School District. Earlier experience includes being a Special Education Teacher at the School District of Philadelphia. Nikki holds a Master of Education in Educational Leadership and Administration from the University of Arizona and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary and Special Education from Temple University.

Delaware County Intermediate Unit

The Delaware County Intermediate Unit (DCIU) is a regional education services agency. It is our mission to provide leadership for the development of innovative and cost-effective programs to meet the needs of our county. DCIU serves more than 80,000 school-aged students and more than 6,000 educators on a regional basis. Direct instruction is provided to more than 15,000 students enrolled in DCIU’s Special Programs, Career and Technical Education and specialized programs. The Delaware County Intermediate Unit is one of Pennsylvania’s 29 regional educational agencies. Established in 1970 by the State Legislature, IUs were charged with providing services in seven areas. DCIU grew to meet Delaware County’s needs by providing services best offered on a regional basis such as special education, technical education, services to nonpublic schools and technology. Today, more than 40 years in the business of serving the needs of Delaware County, DCIU has grown to provide more than $125 million worth of services through the management of 60 programs.
