John T. Hanson

Mr. Hanson first came to the Delaware River Port Authority in 2002 as a commissioner and chair of the board’s finance committee. In November 2004, he became the Authority’s Chief Financial Officer, a position he held until he was appointed acting Chief Executive Officer in January 2014 and Chief Executive Officer in May 2014.

As CEO, Mr. Hanson emphasizes stewardship and public service as the root of the Authority’s mission and purpose, saying, “We are stewards of the important transportation assets and other resources. He is a practitioner of the Lean Six Sigma business process improvement methodology, in which he has attained the level of black belt. Beginning in 2009, he initiated a Lean Six Sigma pilot program for more than 100 participants from DRPA and PATCO.
