Shoshana Akins is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in public participation planning and community engagement. Since September 2015, Shoshana has served as the Manager of Public Participation Planning at the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission, focusing on equity, environmental justice, and vulnerable populations. Previous roles include Project Manager at the Thomas Scattergood Behavioral Health Foundation, where Shoshana led a design challenge for trauma-informed product design, and Evaluation Coordinator at Drexel University, evaluating a mental health initiative. Additional experience includes research associate positions at Boston Public Schools and Harvard School of Public Health, as well as various roles in communication and research across educational institutions. Shoshana holds a Master's Degree in Public Health from Drexel University and a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from Suffolk University.
