Arkady Zgonnikov

Co-director Of Herald Lab: Human-aware Robust AI For Automated Driving at Delft University of Technology

Arkady Zgonnikov is an Assistant Professor at Technische Universiteit Delft since June 2019 and serves as the Co-director of the HERALD Lab, focusing on AI-based automated driving systems that safely interact with humans. Additionally, Zgonnikov holds the position of Director for Partnerships and Collaborations at the Centre for Meaningful Human Control at TU Delft. Prior experience includes roles as a Special Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Aizu, where work included motion capture experiments and machine learning projects, and as a Postdoctoral Researcher at NUI Galway, where research involved mathematical modeling of decision-making dynamics. Zgonnikov's earlier career included positions as a Systems Analyst and Software Developer, contributing to business processes and developing software solutions. Arkady Zgonnikov holds a Master of Science in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science from Saint Petersburg State University and a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from The University of Aizu.
