Bharat Gopal has a wealth of experience in the field of pulmonology and sleep medicine. Bharat started their career as a Senior Medical Officer at Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital(PGIMER) in 1999, where they worked until 2002. Following this, they held positions as a Consultant in the Department of Respiratory Medicine at Maharaja Agrasen Hospital from 2002-2004, and as a Senior Consultant in the same department at Fortis Healthcare from 2004-2007.

In 2007, Bharat Gopal joined Metro Hospitals & Heart Institutes as a Senior Consultant and Head of the Department of Pulmonology & Critical Care, a role they held until 2011. During this time, they also served as a Senior Consultant and Head of the Department of Respiratory & Sleep Medicine at Maharaja Agrasen Hospital from 2011-2021.

In 2021, Bharat Gopal took on the position of Senior Consultant in Pulmonology at Fortis Healthcare. Bharat also served as the Director of the Department of Pulmonology & Sleep Medicine at MGS Hospital from 2021-2022. Currently, they are the Director and Head of the Department of Pulmonology, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine at Delhi Heart and Lung Institute, a position they have held since 2022.

Bharat Gopal's education history is as follows:

From 1977 to 1990, Bharat Gopal attended Modern School, where they completed their high school education.

From 1990 to 1995, they pursued a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree at Maulana Azad Medical College.

Next, from 1996 to 1999, Bharat Gopal pursued a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in Respiratory Medicine at Vallabhbhai Patel Chest Institute.

In 2001, they attended the National Board of Examinations, where they obtained a DNB degree in Respiratory Diseases.

In 2005, Bharat Gopal became a Fellow at the American College of Chest Physicians.

In 2009, they completed a Fellowship in Interventional Pulmonology at Università Politecnica delle Marche, specifically under Prof Gasparini at Azienda Ospedali Riuniti.

Bharat also obtained a fellowship in Interventional Pulmonology from the European Respiratory Society, specializing in Endobronchial Ultrasound, Airway Stents, LVRS, and Thoracoscopy. However, the start and end years for this fellowship are not provided.
