Marc Aafjes

Marc Aafjes is the CEO of Deliberate AI. Marc has over 20 years of experience in the telecommunications and technology industries, including stints at Vodafone, Ooredoo Group, and Indosat.

Aafjes began their career at Cap Gemini Ernst & Young, where they spent six years as a consultant. In 2005, they joined Vodafone, where they held several senior positions over the next four years, including Global Head of Knowledge, Group Head of Managed Services, and Group Head of International Propositions.

In 2009, Aafjes left Vodafone to join Indosat as a Board Observer. The following year, they joined Ooredoo Group as VP (Group Director) of Corporate Strategy & Intelligence. Marc was promoted to SVP (Senior Group Director) of Strategy & Business Transformation in 2012.

Aafjes left Ooredoo Group in 2014 to join The ANT Works as a Board Member. That same year, they also joined Bitfury as Chief Strategy & Communications Officer. Marc left Bitfury in December 2014 to focus on 1880 Investments & Advisory, which they had founded earlier that year.

In 2019, Aafjes joined Deliberate AI as CEO.

Marc Aafjes has a Master's degree in General Management and Business Administration from Stanford University, as well as a Sloan Fellowship. Marc also has a Master's degree in Finance and Economics from VU University Amsterdam.
