Abigail Thurman is a dedicated Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurse at Dell Children's Medical Center Foundation since February 2023 and also serves as a Substitute School Nurse at St. Michael's Catholic Academy starting January 2024. Previous experience includes a role as a Peer Academic Coach focusing on Pharmacology and Adult Health at The University of Texas at Austin from January 2021 to December 2022, and participation in the Nurse Extern program at Houston Methodist in 2022, where Abigail gained extensive clinical experience across various specialties including oncology, bone marrow transplant, and intensive care units. Additional experience includes a Nurse Externship at St. David's HealthCare and an internship at Stonegate Surgery Center. Abigail holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The University of Texas at Austin and a certificate in Spanish for Healthcare Professions. A notable project includes research on managing and preventing hypoglycemic episodes in oncology and BMT units.

Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas Foundation serves as the fundraising arm for Seton Family of Hospital’s Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas, a part of Ascension. Through philanthropy, the Central Texas community helped build this outstanding regional facility. Our goal is to help make it one of the top children’s hospitals in the country.
