Allison Mendez-Cleaver BSN, RN is an experienced Acute Care Nurse at Dell Children's Medical Center Foundation since February 2020, specializing in pediatric care for children with respiratory, GI, cardiac, and other acute and chronic illnesses, with notable skills in handling tracheostomy tubes, chest tubes, and g-tubes. Prior to this role, Allison worked as a Pediatric Operating Room Nurse with a focus on neurosurgery and plastic surgery procedures and served as a Medical Assistant at Sports Performance International. Additionally, Allison was a Professional Athlete with achievements including qualifying for the 2016 and 2020 Olympic Marathon Trials and winning two Cap 10K Championships and two Austin Half Marathon Championships. Education includes a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies from The University of Texas at Austin, an Associate of Science in Registered Nursing from Austin Community College, and a Bachelor’s degree in Registered Nursing from The University of Texas at Arlington, where Allison is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Nursing Administration.

Through philanthropy, the Central Texas community helped build this outstanding regional facility. Our goal is to help make it one of the top children’s hospitals in the country.
