Maarten Kommers

Maarten Kommers is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in project management and capacity building in agricultural development. Currently serving as Senior Project Manager for West Africa and Iraq at Delphy, Maarten focuses on sustainable crop production and managing a consortium in Senegal aimed at enhancing onion production among smallholder farmers. Previously, Maarten held leadership roles at OMF International, including National Director for the Netherlands and Deputy International Director for the EU and Africa Region, where responsibilities encompassed policy development, partnership management, and organizational culture transformation. Early career experience includes consulting for GZB in Peru, project management at LTO Noord, and project officer responsibilities at Wageningen Livestock Research. Educational qualifications include an MA in Global Leadership in Intercultural Contexts from the University of Gloucestershire, an MSc in Ecological Agriculture from Wageningen University, and a BSc in Tropical Plant Production from Van Hall Larenstein University.
