Matthew Shigenobu Muta

Matthew Shigenobu Muta is an accomplished technology executive with extensive experience in innovation and engineering. Currently serving as the Senior Vice President of Optum Consumer Engineering at UnitedHealth Group since July 2024, Muta has held significant roles in various organizations, including Vice President of Innovation & Commercial Technologies at Delta Air Lines since March 2014 and Director on the Board at Sarcos Technology and Robotics Corporation since November 2021. Muta's previous experience includes leadership positions at Microsoft, where responsibilities included managing global hospitality and retail technologies, and a tenure as Corporate Vice President of E-Business & Web Technologies at Albertsons Inc. Muta earned a BA in Communication and Journalism from Boise State University, graduating in 1993.
