Project Manager / Senior Expert Geohydrology at Deltares

Dimmie Hendriks is a seasoned project manager and senior expert in geohydrology at Deltares, with a career spanning from May 2009 to the present. Dimmie specializes in applied research and advisory services focusing on groundwater management, droughts, water shortages, and the application of big data and remote sensing. Additional areas of expertise include assessing risks associated with deep subsurface activities and their impact on shallow subsurface environments, particularly in peat areas concerning greenhouse gas emissions and soil subsidence. Prior to this role, Dimmie completed a PhD at VU University Amsterdam from 2005 to 2009, investigating greenhouse gas budgets in peat meadows amidst environmental changes and evolving water management practices. Previous experience includes positions as a project manager at PMB Gemeente Haarlemmermeer and as a hydrologist at Reinwater. Dimmie holds a Master’s degree in hydrology and geology from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and a propedeuse in Cultural Anthropology and Sociology from Leiden University.
