Deltares
Luca van Duren is a Senior Researcher at Deltares since January 2008, focusing on ecosystem functioning, bio-fluid dynamics, estuarine ecology, and eco-engineering. Prior to this role, Luca served as a Researcher/Advisor at Rijkswaterstaat from October 2006 to December 2007, conducting research on marine ecosystems in the South-West Delta area of the Netherlands. Luca's research experience also includes a position at NIOO-KNAW from February 1998 to March 2006, where the focus was on bio-fluid dynamics, flume technology, benthic-pelagic exchange, and benthic ecology. Luca holds a PhD and an MSc in marine biology from the University of Groningen, where studies were completed from 1990 to 1996 and 1985 to 1989, respectively. Initial studies in biology were undertaken at Radboud University and Bisschop Bekkers College.
