Roshanka Ranasinghe

Senior Specialist

Roshanka Ranasinghe is an accomplished academic with extensive experience in coastal engineering and climate change impacts. Holding positions as Associate Professor at UNESCO-IHE and Delft University of Technology from January 2008 to December 2013, Roshanka contributed to coastal research and postgraduate education, focusing on capacity building in developing nations. Currently a Professor of Climate Change Impacts and Coastal Risk at Universiteit Twente and IHE Delft Institute for Water Education since January 2014, Roshanka also worked briefly as a Senior Specialist and Advisor in Strategic Modelling at Deltares in April 2020. Roshanka earned a PhD in Coastal Oceanography and Engineering from the Centre for Water Research, University of Western Australia, and a BScEng with First Class Honours in Civil Engineering from the University of Peradeniya.
