John Smith

John Smith is an experienced safety professional with a strong background in construction and military operations. Currently serving as the Safety Manager/Site Safety Health Officer (SSHO) at DeMaria Building Company since December 2019, John oversees safety for a $28 million Ambulatory Medical Clinic project. Prior roles include Safety Manager at Schuff Steel - Pacific, Inc., where John maintained an incident-free record over multiple projects, and Site Safety & Health Officer for a USACE prime contractor during significant construction projects. Additionally, John has extensive safety oversight experience from positions at Penhall Company and a distinguished 22-year career with the United States Marine Corps. John holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Electrical Engineering Technology from Southern Illinois University and an Associate’s Degree in Human Resources Management from American Military University.
