Ruben Biesheuvel is an Optical Engineer at DEMCON Focal since January 2018, with prior experience as an Intern Optical Engineer at Datalogic, where non-imaging lenses were designed using the Simultaneous Multiple Surface design method. Ruben has also contributed as a Student Assistant at TU Delft, developing curricula for Stochastic Signal Analysis and creating online learning modules for Transport Phenomena on the EdX platform. As a Technical Manager and Treasurer at Forze Delft, experience in Agile and SCRUM methodologies was gained while working on hydrogen racing cars. Earlier roles include serving as Leader in Training Resource Counselor at Camp Kintail, where leadership programs for youth were implemented. Ruben holds a Master of Science (MSc) and Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Applied Physics from Delft University of Technology.

Demcon focal is the integration and development partner in the field of Industrial Precision Inspection and Optical Systems. Demcon focal develops and realizes precision inspection and optical measurement systems for customers in automotive, life sciences and semicon. DEMCON Focal performs custom design and engineering (D&E) in a multidisciplinary approach, consisting of optical engineering, machine vision and system engineering. Activities include high-level requirements engineering, concept design, prototyping, detailed engineering, system integration and delivery. The result of our efforts is systems that work, which are either integrated and supported in the customers’ production lines, or delivered as modules ready for integration in high-tech or medical OEM products.
