Joanna Sullivan has a diverse work experience in the fundraising and events sector. Joanna started their career as an Events and Media Officer at UnitingCare Australia in 2008, and later became the National Events Manager. In 2011, they moved to Sue Ryder Care as an Area Fundraising Manager before joining MS Society as a Community and Events Fundraising Manager in 2012. Joanna then worked at Teenage Cancer Trust, first as the Head of Challenge Events from 2014 to 2016, and then as the Head of Mass Fundraising & Supporter Development from 2016 to 2020. Most recently, they have been the Head of Community Fundraising, Events & Innovation at Dementia UK since 2020.
Joanna Sullivan's education history includes a BA (Hons) degree in English from the University of Nottingham. Dementia UK provides specialist dementia support for families through our Admiral Nurse service. When things get challenging or difficult for people with dementia and their families, Admiral Nurses work alongside them. They give the one-to-one support, guidance and practical solutions people need, and that can be hard to find elsewhere. Admiral Nurses are continually trained, developed and supported by Dementia UK. Families that have their support have someone truly expert and caring by their side - helping them to live more positively with dementia in the present, and to face the challenges of tomorrow with more confidence and less fear.
