Jarrett Hothan is the lead writer at Demo Duck, a video production company in Chicago. Jarrett has over ten years of experience in communications and public relations.

Jarrett began their career as an intern at The Onion, a satirical news website, where they wrote and edited articles. Jarrett then became a staff reporter for The Daily Iowan, where they covered arts and culture. In 2008, they moved to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, where they wrote and edited articles about the hospital's services and treatments.

In 2011, Jarrett began working at Weber Shandwick, a global public relations firm, where they interned in the consumer division. Jarrett then became a senior public relations manager at Cramer-Krasselt, where they worked on campaigns for Motorola, Milk, and Sharpie. In 2016, they joined Upshot as their senior communications manager. Jarrett used their storytelling skills to share Upshot's digital, social, mobile, and in-store campaigns and activations through a variety of media. Jarrett also prepared entries for a variety of industry awards, including the Effie and REGGIE awards.

Jarrett is a skilled communicator with a passion for storytelling. Jarrett has a proven track record of success in both writing and public relations.

Jarrett Hothan has a Bachelor of Science in English, Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of Iowa and also attended the Chicago 4A's Institute for Advanced Advertising Studies.
