Ayanna Thomas

Ayanna Yasmin Thomas is a seasoned legal professional currently serving as General Counsel for Democracy Prep Public Schools since August 2024. Prior to this role, Ayanna was a Partner and Associate at Bond, Schoeneck & King PLLC from September 2015 to August 2024. Experience includes a Summer Associate position at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP in 2014 and a Legal Extern role in the Sewanhaka Central High School District's Legal Department. Earlier career highlights consist of serving as a Summer Associate at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP in 2013, and teaching as a Reading/Math Club Teacher at the Sports and Arts in Schools Foundation in 2012. Academic leadership experience includes serving as Vice President for Academic Affairs & Governance at the SUNY New Paltz Student Association, and tutoring students at SUNY New Paltz.
