Jarell Lloyd

VP of Engineering at Democracy Works

Jarell Lloyd has over 18 years of work experience in the technology industry. Jarell began their career in 2002 as an ISS Engineer at NTT/Verio, where they developed an asset and inventory management system for an ISP. In 2005, they moved to The ACE Group as a Senior Software Engineer, where they designed and developed a next-generation auto finance and lead management application. In 2006, they joined Accenture as a Consultant, providing guidance to clients on improving efficiency in their enterprises. Later that same year, they moved to Xede Consulting Group as a Senior Consultant, leading the architecture and development of applications for multiple clients. From 2009-2019, they worked at Valassis as a Software Development Team Lead, managing operational and development activities for a SaaS-based digital coupon distribution platform. In 2019, they joined Ally as the Director of Application Development, managing multiple development teams to ensure alignment of technology and business goals for the SmartAuction platform. In 2021, they moved to Trustpage as the Director of Trust, responsible for building DevSecOps practices to establish and maintain compliance with security and privacy regulations. Currently, they are the VP of Engineering at Democracy Works, helping Americans vote no matter what by providing the tools, information, and support needed to confidently participate in elections.

Jarell Lloyd is currently enrolled in the Computer Engineering program at the University of Michigan. Jarell also holds a Certified Agile Leadership I certification from the Scrum Alliance, obtained in December 2019.
