Mr. George Karosas has over 43 years of experience in safety concentrating on product safety, machine guarding, employee safety, and safety standards.

Most machinery accidents involve a balancing of machine guarding principles and lockout/tagout requirements and the interaction between man, machine and his environment. Mr. Karosas’ experience uniquely qualifies him to investigate and solve your safety problems.

Safety technology has advanced dramatically in the past 2 decades. Mr. Karosas has been directly involved and has led efforts to embrace and incorporate that technology into safety standards. He has chaired the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Printing Press Safety subcommittee since 1992 leading the committee’s efforts to introduce significant new guarding and interlocking requirements. In the 1990s, he was the US representative to the European Community (CE) committee developing similar CE standards for the European Union. He is the Convenor of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) TC130 Working Group 5 developing safety requirements for Printing and Paper Converting Machinery and harmonizing US, European and other international standards.
