Avraham Serour

Avraham Serour started their career in software development in 2003, working for various companies outside Israel as a Software Developer for over a decade. In 2014, they joined Crow Electronics as a Senior Developer, where they developed and designed internal tools and software platforms for engineers. Avraham also acted as a problem solver for difficult tasks across different domains. From 2015 to 2016, Avraham worked as a Backend Developer for a cybersecurity company, primarily focusing on distributed web crawling using Python, celery, elasticsearch, and MongoDB.

Avraham then worked as a Senior Software Developer at Checkpoint from 2016 to 2017, where they contributed to the development of a Django system using PostgreSQL and Elasticsearch for malware sample metadata. Following this role, they became the Lead Python Developer at Shoppimon in 2017, leading the Python development team.

In 2018, Avraham joined HexaTier as a Lead Python Developer, where they focused on improving code quality and developer efficiency through refactoring and the adoption of best practices. Avraham promoted the migration to Python 3 and advocated the use of standard libraries instead of custom solutions.

From 2019 to 2022, Avraham worked at Trax Retail as a Python Infrastructure Developer. Their responsibilities included coordinating with multiple teams, refactoring and tooling development, introducing best practices, and providing developer training and support. Avraham successfully led the migration from Python 2 to 3 and orchestrated the migration of a large monorepo from Bitbucket to GitHub.

Most recently, Avraham joined Demostack in 2022 as a Tech Lead and Software Architect, leveraging their extensive experience to guide the technical direction and architecture of the company's projects.

Avraham Serour completed their bachelor's degree in Informatica from Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro from 2001 to 2005. In 2002, they pursued a short-term course at AOPEC specializing in Oracle 9i, where they obtained a DBA certificate.
