Jessica Morris is an experienced professional in the field of marine biology and environmental education, currently serving as the Public Programs and Camp Director at Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center since March 2017. Previously, Jessica held roles as an Educator and Assistant Animal Curator and Camp Director at the same institution. Prior experience includes working as a Marine Instructor at Guided Discoveries, where marine science labs and field trips were led for students in grades 5-12. Jessica's background also includes positions at the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center, where technical and internship roles contributed to data management and research on invasive species, as well as fieldwork with the Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection. Early career experience encompasses laboratory and research assistant positions at the University of Rhode Island and Smith Laboratory. Jessica holds a B.S. in Marine Biology from the University of Rhode Island, supplemented by international educational experiences at James Cook University and the Bermuda Institute of Ocean Sciences.

Located in Mystic, CT, Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center offers nature programs, education and experiences for all at two locations. Enjoy 10+ miles of trails, natural history exhibits and live birds of prey and other resident animals. Our mission is to inspire an understanding of the natural world and ourselves as part of it – past, present and future. It is our hope that through DPNC and Coogan Farm that we will help our visitors foster a personal environmental ethic. Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center is a known and trusted provider of environmental education and stewardship of conservation lands across eastern Connecticut. Our education programs reach into schools and libraries around the region, and our hikes and other outdoor recreation provide hands-on environmental learning.
