Sjoerd van der Hooft

Lead R&D at DENS

Sjoerd van der Hooft has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Sjoerd is currently the Business Owner of S. van der Hooft Instrumentmakerij since September 2021. Prior to this, they worked at DENS as the Lead R&D, starting in June 2021. From March 2016 to June 2021, they were a Research Instrumentmaker at TU/e Eindhoven University of Technology. Sjoerd also worked as an Autowasser at R. Swagemakers Transport VOF from October 2005 to March 2016. Sjoerd has also held roles as a Laboratory Analyst at ICL Group from July 2015 to January 2016, a Laborant at ICL Industrial Products in July 2014 and August 2014, and as a Stagiair at Hans Martens Gereedschapmakerij from August 2013 to January 2014. Sjoerd had two separate stints as a Laborant at ICL Industrial Products in July-August 2013 and as a Stagiair mechanical workshop at the European Space Agency from February 2013 to June 2013. Additionally, Sjoerd was a Laborant at ICL Industrial Products in June-August 2012.

Sjoerd van der Hooft has a diverse education history. Sjoerd began by attending the Leidse Instrumentmakers School from 2011 to 2015, where they obtained a degree in Research Instrumentmaker. During their time at this school, they specialized in the field of Research Instrumentmaker metaal. Following this, Sjoerd attended the ROC Zeeland, where they studied Laboratory Techniques from 2006 to 2010 and earned a MBO nv4 degree. During their studies at ROC Zeeland, they focused on Analytical Chemistry. Additionally, Sjoerd obtained certifications in Research Instrumentmaker from the Leidse Instrumentmakers School in July 2015, and in Chemisch-fysisch analist from ROC Zeeland in June 2010.
