Eugene Pohancsek

Eugene (Gene) Pohancsek is an experienced professional currently serving as a Senior Staff Assistant in the Office of Academic Advising at the Jacobs School of Education, University at Buffalo, since February 2024. Prior to this role, Eugene co-founded a Multiple Sclerosis Support Group at Dent Neurologic Institute, where Eugene has volunteered since August 2004. Eugene's extensive background in financial aid includes positions as Assistant Director of Financial Aid and Financial Aid Administrator at D'Youville University from July 2014 to February 2024, as well as a Financial Aid Administrator at the University at Buffalo from May 2004 to June 2014. Additionally, Eugene has experience as a Patient Ambassador for Biogen Idec, advocating for people with Multiple Sclerosis from January 2011 to January 2023. Earlier work at The Home Depot and Fiserv involved cash management, customer service, and bookkeeping. Eugene holds a Master of Science degree in Studies in Creativity from Buffalo State University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from D'Youville University.
