Tommy Nylec

Tommy Nylec has a diverse work experience spanning different roles and companies. Tommy began their career as a Technical Sales Support Representative at modStop, Inc, where they provided technical sales support for customizations to the Miva Merchant internet shopping cart suite. Tommy later worked at Grayson Collin Electric Cooperative as an Electrical Engineer, overseeing day-to-day operations and managing various business initiatives.

Tommy then joined Austin Energy, where they held multiple roles including Power System Engineer Senior and Power System Consulting Engineer. In these positions, they managed distribution design, capital improvement projects, and field services. Tommy also provided technical and operational support to other departments and was responsible for budget oversight.

After their time at Austin Energy, Tommy worked as a Project Manager at GDS Associates, Inc. Their responsibilities included maintaining a client base and providing operational and engineering consulting services.

Tommy then served as the Chief Engineer at Kerrville Public Utility Board, where they oversaw all engineering functions and staff. Their responsibilities included distribution design, planning, substation construction, energy efficiency programs, and other strategic and management duties.

Most recently, Tommy has been working at CoServ as the Director of Engineering, a role they started in 2020.

Tommy Nylec obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M University, which they attended from 1999 to 2003. In 2008, they obtained the Professional Engineer (PE) certification from the Texas Board of Professional Engineers. Tommy further pursued their education and earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a focus on Finance from the University of North Texas. Tommy attended the university from 2017 to 2019.
