Denver Museum of Nature & Science
Michele Koons serves as the Director of Anthropology and Curator of Archaeology at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science since October 2012, and has been an Adjunct Professor at the University of Colorado Denver since 2015, with prior adjunct roles at the University of Denver from January 2014 to 2015. Education includes a PhD in Anthropology from Harvard University, along with an MA from the University of Denver and a BA from the University of Pittsburgh. Previous experience encompasses positions as a Teaching Fellow at Harvard University from January 2007 to May 2011, as a Research Assistant at the University of Pennsylvania and University of Arkansas, and development of educational workshops at Museo de las Americas. Early career work includes serving as Crew Chief for a cultural resource management firm, conducting archaeological projects across several states.
