L.b. Aykul

Lia Berman Aykul, Ph.D., currently serves as a Senior Research Analyst at Denver Public Schools, starting in October 2023. Prior to this role, Aykul held academic positions at the University of Colorado Denver as a Faculty Lecturer of Anthropology and at the Rocky Mountain School of Art & Design as an Associate Faculty of Anthropology, where responsibilities included transitioning to online learning and enhancing student engagement through innovative course content. Aykul also served as an Associate Faculty of Anthropology at the University of South Florida, developing course syllabi that promoted diversity, equity, and inclusion, while effectively lecturing on cultural anthropology and research methods. Earlier experience includes a position as a University Instructor at Istanbul Technical University, focusing on English education. Aykul holds a Doctorate in Applied Anthropology from the University of South Florida, a Master’s in Economic Anthropology and International Development from The London School of Economics, and a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from Eckerd College.
