Becca Orozco

Director of Corporate Relations at Denver Scholarship Foundation

Becca joins the team from the Dumb Friends League, where she served as Corporate Partnership Manager. In this role, she cultivated and stewarded a portfolio of institutional partners and event sponsors to help advance the organization’s work to support pets in need and the people who love them. She is particularly passionate about the League’s educational programs designed to inspire Denver Public Schools students to explore post-secondary careers in animal welfare and veterinary medicine. Prior to this role, Becca served as Director of Marketing & Communications for the American Cheese Society, a national trade association for artisan cheesemakers and dairies.

Becca received a B.A. in Psychology from Middlebury College in Vermont. While in college, she had the opportunity to study abroad in Senegal, where she focused her studies on the government’s nascent early education programs. She began her nonprofit career soon after, working in the fields of child development and social policy, as well as managing a youth radio project for public high school students in New Haven, Connecticut. These experiences sparked a lifelong interest in educational equity, and a belief in the power of public schools. Becca is thrilled to join the Denver Scholarship Foundation team to help support DSF’s mission to make college and postsecondary opportunities possible for Denver Public Schools students.

Becca was born in Connecticut, but has lived in Colorado for nearly 13 years. She lives in Centennial with her husband Bernie, daughter Anna (third grade), and dog Kona. They enjoy camping, traveling, reading, and cooking together.
