Patti Schwartzberg

Patti Schwartzberg is passionate about education and is a finance geek. Her background in public accounting, municipal government, and small business – coupled with her volunteerism and advocacy for public education in Denver – present a strong foundation for her role at Denver Scholarship Foundation (DSF) looking after finance, accounting, budgeting, HR, IT, and a whole host of other functions. While manager of revenue for the City and County of Denver, Patti was responsible for securing financing for the construction of Denver International Airport, working with the city’s outside consultants to successfully sell bonds in the institutional investment market to raise the necessary capital at a time when the markets were suspect of the project. Prior to her municipal service, she worked in public accounting as a certified public accountant. She also has private business experience, working for nearly 20 years in small business. She is a relentless advocate for education, especially for public schools. As a first generation college graduate herself, she identifies with DSF Scholars and believes strongly in helping Denver students find the educational opportunities that are right for them. The mother of two Denver Public Schools' (DPS) graduates, she has spent the last two decades working as a parent volunteer for DPS and in the greater Denver community. A transplanted Floridian via Virginia and New Mexico, Patti has called Colorado home for more than 30 years, where she is now thrilled to be part of the DSF executive team and involved with DSF’s extraordinary staff and Scholars.
