Cheryl Stevens Mbe

Cheryl Stevens MBE serves as a Director at the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) since February 2015, with roles including Deputy Director for Identity, Trust and Fraud and Error Prevention, as well as Deputy Director for Digital Design and Head of Business Architecture. Cheryl leads a team focusing on secure, proportionate service design to enable digital delivery and fosters understanding of Identity, Trust, and Risk for transformational services. Prior to DWP, Cheryl held various leadership positions at HM Revenue & Customs from November 1999 to February 2015, including Head of Operational Strategy, Direction & Risk, where accountability extended to 3000+ staff and prevention of £642 million in losses, and Head of Business Design and Improvement, overseeing process design for tax credits and child benefit. Cheryl's extensive experience encompasses a range of operational and corporate leadership roles, driving transformation through service design and risk-based interventions.
