Emma Beynon

Emma Beynon is an experienced data science leader currently serving as the Head of Data Science for the Integrated Risk and Intelligence Service at the Department for Work and Pensions since June 2018. Beynon leads a multidisciplinary team to develop machine learning models aimed at detecting and preventing fraud in the benefits system while actively engaging stakeholders to promote the value of these innovative techniques. Prior roles include Senior Data Scientist at DWP, where Beynon led teams in similar initiatives, and Data Scientist at Transport for London, establishing a data science team to utilize machine learning for asset failure predictions. Beynon's academic background includes a PhD in Cosmology from the University of Portsmouth and a PGCE in Secondary Science with Physics from the University of Chichester.
