Graeme Cooke

Graeme Cooke is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in policy and advisory roles, currently serving as Special Adviser at the Department for Work and Pensions since July 2024. Previously, Graeme held the position of Senior Adviser at The Labour Party from March 2024 to August 2025 and was the Director of Evidence & Policy at the Joseph Rowntree Foundation from June 2021 to March 2024. Prior roles include Director of Inclusive Growth at the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham, Head of Strategy and Change at Islington Council, and Research Director at IPPR. Graeme's background also includes leadership positions at Demos and 4Children, as well as a solid educational foundation with a Bachelor's Degree in Social and Political Sciences from the University of Cambridge, earned in 2003.
