Rizwana Parveen

Rizwana Parveen currently serves as a Director at the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) since December 2023. Previously, Rizwana held the position of Deputy Director at the Department for Education from February 2019 to December 2023, where responsibilities included overseeing key policies from the Skills for Jobs White Paper and serving as Programme Director for local skills improvement plans, the strategic development fund, and Institutes of Technology. Additionally, Rizwana led three subregional teams as Deputy Director in the Office of the Regional School Commissioner for East Midland & Humber, focusing on the delivery of core academies and national priorities during the pandemic. Earlier experience includes leading the £5.5 million digital assessment strategy at the Standard & Testing Agency and various leadership roles within the UK Civil Service from January 2001 to February 2019. Rizwana completed an education program at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, from February 2021 to January 2023.
