Fiona Gilbert is a seasoned professional in climate finance and adaptation, currently serving as the Director at the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water since September 2022, while also acting as the Director of the International Climate Negotiations and Engagement Branch. Prior to this role, Fiona held various positions at the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade from November 2013 to September 2022, including Assistant Director and Senior Policy Officer within the Sustainability and Climate Change Branch. Fiona's earlier experience includes a Policy Officer role at AusAID focused on Climate Change and Environment from November 2011 to November 2013. Academically, Fiona holds a Master of Environmental Management and Development and a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) paired with a Bachelor of Commerce, both from The Australian National University.
