Jaxson Smyth currently serves as the acting Assistant Director at the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water since January 2024, following a role as Senior Policy Officer at the Australian Energy Regulator from August 2022 to January 2024. Prior experience includes positions as Solicitor and Graduate at Colin Biggers & Paisley from April 2019 to August 2022, and a Senior Supervisor role at Brisbane Basketball Incorporated from July 2017 to July 2019. Jaxson has also gained experience through seasonal clerkships at King & Wood Mallesons and Clayton Utz in 2018, a volunteer position at Caxton Legal Centre, and as a Paralegal and Law Clerk at Phoenix Law & Associates and Conveyancing Home QLD, respectively. Jaxson holds a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from The College of Law Australia and a Bachelor's Degree in Laws (Honours) from Queensland University of Technology.
