Brenda Hawks

Brenda Hawks has over 25 years of experience in the field of nuclear and environmental engineering, currently serving as the Associate Deputy Assistant Secretary for Field Operations Oversight and Chief of Nuclear Safety at the U.S. Department of Energy since May 1995. Prior to this role, Brenda held positions as a Nuclear Engineer and Environmental Engineer at the Department of Defense from 1994 to 1995, and as a Shift Refueling Engineer at the Department of Defense from 1986 to 1994. Brenda's academic credentials include a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering and Polymer Chemistry, and two Bachelor's degrees in Chemical Engineering and Polymer Chemistry, all obtained from North Carolina State University.
