Elizabeth Urbanas serves as the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Asia and the Americas at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) since January 2013, also holding the position of Acting Assistant Secretary for International Affairs. Prior to her current role, Elizabeth Urbanas worked at the U.S. Department of the Treasury as Director of Environment and Energy from March 1999 to January 2013, and spent time at The World Bank from September 2002 to August 2006 as an Advisor to the Executive Director and Country Coordinator. Elizabeth Urbanas began her career as a Financial Analyst at Brundage Story and Rose from July 1995 to 1998. Academic qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts in Russian Studies and English from William & Mary, a Master of Arts in Russian Studies from the University at Albany, and a Master of Business Administration in Finance from George Mason University.
