Erik Schroeder

Erik Schroeder, CISSP, is a seasoned cybersecurity professional with extensive experience in information assurance and security management. Currently serving as the Chief Information Security Officer and Director of Information Assurance at the U.S. Department of Energy since July 2019, Erik oversees all assessment, authorization, and compliance aspects of information systems. Prior roles include Enterprise Information System Security Manager at ClearFocus Technologies and Information Systems Security Manager at BAI Inc., where Erik managed information security risk for classified and enterprise systems. With a solid foundation in military operations as a former Information Systems Security Officer on the USS West Virginia and various roles in the US Navy, Erik holds multiple degrees including a Master of Science in Management of Secure Information Systems and a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology from George Mason University and the University of Phoenix.
