Joshua Volz

Joshua Volz is an experienced professional in the field of international relations and energy policy, currently serving as Deputy Assistant Secretary at the U.S. Department of Energy since June 2020. Prior to this role, Joshua Volz held several key positions at the U.S. Department of State from September 2010 to June 2020, including Director for Europe and Eurasia, Eastern Mediterranean Team Lead, and Senior International Energy Officer. Additionally, Joshua Volz worked at the United States Department of Defense as Deputy Team Lead for Iraq Reconstruction and Stabilization and Senior Advisor from February 2004 to September 2010. Early in his career, Joshua Volz gained experience in the outdoor recreation industry as a Ski Instructor and Backcountry Guide at Vail Resorts. Joshua Volz holds a Master of Science in National Security Strategy and Resourcing from the National Defense University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science/Philosophy from Kalamazoo College, supplemented by studies at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
