Steven Vitto

Steven Vitto currently serves as the Research and Innovation Program Manager at the U.S. Department of Energy, specifically within the Office of Storage & Transportation, and previously managed the Spent Nuclear Fuel Program under the Office of Environmental Management. Prior to joining the DOE in January 2023, Steven held various roles at the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission from September 2013 to January 2023, including Physical Security Specialist and Technical Advisor in the Division of Physical and Cyber Security Policy. Steven's experience also includes serving as a Shift Refueling Engineer and Nuclear Engineer at Norfolk Naval Shipyard, and earlier roles as a Research Assistant in academic settings. Steven earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Virginia.
