Elizabeth McDonald

Elizabeth McDonald is an accomplished Executive Director currently serving in various roles at the Department of Health, Tasmania, including Community and Wellbeing, Statewide Allied Health, and as the Voluntary Assisted Dying Commissioner. Before this, Elizabeth worked at West Moreton Hospital and Health Service as a Social Worker and Health Coach, where a Health Coaching model was developed for Virtual Care. Prior experience includes serving as Team Leader for the Spinal Injuries Unit at Princess Alexandra Hospital under Queensland Health, and working as a Project Manager and Lecturer at Griffith University, focusing on student placement processes in social work. Elizabeth holds a Bachelor of Social Work and a Master of Social Work from The University of Texas at Arlington, an Executive MBA from QUT, and is an Accredited Health and Wellness Coach certified by Wellness Coaching Australia.
