Lynn Phung

Lynn Phung is a dedicated professional with a diverse background in social work and accounting. Currently serving as a Social Worker and previously a Social Work Assistant at the Department of Health in Tasmania since October 2022, Lynn has accumulated valuable experience in crisis support through a role with the Australian Red Cross and a student placement with the Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drugs Council Tasmania. Lynn’s earlier experiences include accounting roles such as an Assistant Accountant at First Accountants, where tasks included producing BAS, managing payment summaries, and delivering bookkeeping services using XERO and TAXCAT. A solid foundation in customer service was established during time as a Sales Assistant at Mamapho Restaurant and as a Desk Receptionist at ELC Language Center. Lynn holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Tasmania, along with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and Finance from La Trobe University, and a Diploma of Interpreting from the Sydney Institute of Interpreting and Translating.

Together these functions provide: - portfolio advice to the Minister for Health - public services to clients and the community - strategic leadership and direction to service delivery areas - corporate support services to service delivery areas - a framework of policies, processes, procedures and controls to assure the Government and the community that the objectives of the health system are being met.
