Nethmi Perera

Nethmi Perera is an accomplished legal professional with extensive experience in policy and legal roles. Currently serving as a Legal Policy Officer at the Department of Justice and Community Safety, Victoria since May 2022, Nethmi previously worked as a Policy Officer at the Law Institute of Victoria, where responsibilities included leading the Administrative Law and Human Rights Section from March 2019 to May 2022. Additionally, Nethmi held the position of Executive Assistant to the Executive Director of Early Childhood and School Support at the Department of Education & Training, Victoria for a brief period in early 2019, and served as an Editorial Assistant at The Age from March 2016 to December 2018. Experience also includes work as a Paralegal at Monash Law Clinics in 2018. Nethmi holds a Juris Doctor from Monash University, a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from The College of Law Australia, and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Affairs from Monash University.
