Benjamin Roebuck

Federal Ombudsperson for Victims of Crime at Department of Justice Canada

Benjamin Roebuck currently serves as the Federal Ombudsperson for Victims of Crime at the Department of Justice Canada, a position held since October 2022, focusing on ensuring the federal government meets its commitments to victims. Concurrently, Benjamin is on leave from Algonquin College, where a notable career includes founding the Victimology Research Centre and teaching various victimology and public safety courses. Previous roles include Vice President of Youth Now Canada, where strategic development and training were key responsibilities, and experience as a trainer in Mental Health First Aid through the Mental Health Commission of Canada.
