David Jakob

Chief Information Officer at Department of Justice Canada

David Jakob started their work experience in 1995 as the President of XIST Inc., a consulting firm specializing in information management. David held roles as President of Taxes.ca and Wine.ca in 1999 before moving on to various senior positions within the Government of Canada. From 2014 to 2017, they were the Director of Information Management & Information Technology Services at the Department of Justice Canada. In 2017, they worked as a Senior Director at Shared Services Canada before returning to the Department of Justice Canada in 2018 as the Deputy Chief Information Officer, eventually becoming the Chief Information Officer in 2022.

David Jakob completed their Bachelor of Arts in History and English Literatures at Western University from 1985 to 1990. David then pursued a Masters in Library and Information Science at the same institution from 1992 to 1993. Later, they obtained a Sommelier Diploma in Hospitality Administration/Management from Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology in 2013-2015. In 2016, they completed WSET Level 3 in Oenology at the Wine & Spirit Education Trust. Finally, they obtained a Certification in Change Management from Prosci in 2017.
