Heather Murchie

Heather Murchie is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in correctional services and emergency management. Currently serving as Assistant Superintendent at the Department of Justice, Heather has held multiple senior management roles at the Department for Correctional Services since 2000, overseeing operational safety, security, and training for correctional staff. Heather has developed significant training programs, including the Defensive Training Package for non-uniformed staff, and contributed to emergency response plans for various crises. Additionally, Heather is a volunteer peer supporter with SAFECOM and a seasoned trainer/assessor with the South Australian Country Fire Service. Educationally, Heather holds a Postgraduate Degree in Organizational Leadership and several vocational qualifications in training and assessment, government studies, and fire safety.
