Kait McNamara

Kait McNamara is an experienced professional in child safeguarding and policy development, currently serving as the Director of Child Safeguarding at the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries since June 2022. Prior experience includes roles as a Principal Policy Officer for COVID-19 Coordination and Social Policy at the Department of the Premier and Cabinet of WA from February 2019 to June 2022, and as a Senior Policy Officer for Strategic Policy and Reform at the Department of Family and Community Services (NSW) from June 2016 to December 2018. Kait also has a background in research and evaluation, having worked at The Benevolent Society and Telethon Kids Institute, as well as academic positions at the University of Sydney and University of Western Australia. Kait holds a BA(Hons) in Psychology and International Relations from The University of Western Australia.
