Shelagh Magadza

Shelagh Magadza currently serves as the Executive Director of Culture and the Arts at the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries since December 2021. Previously, Shelagh held the position of Executive Director at the Chamber of Arts and Culture WA from October 2018 to December 2021. Shelagh has extensive experience in artistic direction, having led the New Zealand Festival and Wellington Jazz Festival from February 2012 to June 2018, and in roles such as Director of the CHOGM 2011 Cultural Festival in Perth and various positions at Perth Festival. Shelagh has also contributed as a Council Member for New Zealand Volunteer Service Abroad and as a Board Member for Kulcha Multicultural Arts Organisation in Western Australia. Educational qualifications include a Master of International Relations from Victoria University of Wellington and completion of the Company Directors Course at the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
