Dr. Victor Peña-Araujo is the Medical Director of the Graduate Program and Adjunct Faculty at the Department of Personalized Health and Well-Being at the University of North Texas Health Science Center, leading the development of an innovative master's program in Lifestyle Health Sciences & Coaching. As the founder of ELITE Personalized Health, Dr. Peña-Araujo focuses on evidence-based lifestyle medicine coaching and consulting. A passionate educator, Dr. Peña-Araujo has extensive experience training junior healthcare professionals and has designed specialized curricula for various health science courses. Dr. Peña-Araujo has held significant positions in health coaching program design, health and wellness management, and pediatric surgery research, alongside a comprehensive educational background from renowned institutions, including the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and Harvard Medical School.

The Department of Personalized Health and Well-Being at The University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth brings together an interprofessional team to develop innovative, educational programs and research endeavors that focus on merging evidence-based lifestyle medicine with National Board for Health and Wellness Coaches (NBHWC) coaching competencies. Our graduates will have foundational knowledge and skills that will prepare them to empower others to mobilize internal strengths and external resources in order to achieve true self-care reform. Our program is a one-year master’s degree with 15 online courses, 5 Saturday all virtual workshops, and 36 credit hours.
