Andrew Hoover

Andrew Hoover is an experienced education leader currently serving as the Regional Education Officer for East Asia & Pacific at the U.S. Department of State since July 2022. Prior to this role, Andrew held positions such as Head of School at American School International Chennai from July 2011 to June 2022, and served on the Board of Trustees as Vice President for the Near East South Asia Council of Overseas Schools from July 2015 to May 2022. Andrew's extensive background in education includes roles as Middle School Principal at American School of Bombay, and as Team and Project Leader at The American School in Japan. Andrew's early experience includes teaching history at Poughkeepsie Day School and serving as a Peace Corps Volunteer focused on community economic development. Andrew holds multiple degrees in education and leadership, including a fellowship at Columbia University’s Klingenstein Center.
